HOW LONG WILL MY SEMI-PERMANENT COSMETICS LAST?

Cosmetic tattooing is designed to fade over time. Factors such as skin type, lifestyle, age, metabolism, medications, and pigment color affect the longevity of the tattoo. The sun and some kinds of lighting(tanning beds) can affect the rate at which these pigments are broken down. To take care of your brows follow the aftercare instructions and touch-up your brows every 12-18 months (AS NEEDED). Touch-ups are normal and expected for permanent cosmetics.

Please note that final results vary and cannot be guaranteed due to the nature of skin as it heals. A follow-up appointment is recommended at 5-8 weeks where we can assess your pigment retention and make any changes necessary.

does Permanent makeup (pmu) hurt?

  • Topical 5% lidocaine is used to make you comfortable during your PMU procedure, however pain tolerance varies from client to client. Having the procedure during your menstrual cycle may increase your sensitivity.

You cannot receive pmu if you are:

  • Pregnant/ Breastfeeding

  • Are currently using Accutane or have used Accutane within the last year

  • Have a freshly tanned/sunburned face/ or open wound on or around brow area

  • Are on blood thinning medications or antibiotics (within 2 weeks of last dose)

  • Are currently undergoing cancer treatment. Must be off Chemo or Radiation for 6 months

how should i prepare for my appointment?

  • If you have reference pictures, please feel free to bring these to your appointment. Along with the pencil or powder you are currently using.

  • If you tint your brows you will want to do so 72 hours before appointment.

  • You must not use Retin-A near the brow area (3 fingers width near brow) 3 weeks before procedure.

  • You will need to avoid water and sweating for 7-10 days after! This includes excessive sweating, pools, extreme sun exposure, so plan your vacation accordingly!

  • No botox, fillers, microdermabrasion, chemical peels or anything of the sort for at least 3 weeks prior to your procedure, and also 2 weeks after.

Where are you located?

I am now based in Historic Riverside Jacksonville, Fl currently but travel to Northern California (Yuba City) roughly every 3-6 months for about 1-2 weeks. Due to recent COVID-19 these trips may be adjusted so please contact for updated travel schedule.

Jacksonville locations: private studio in Riverside.

Want to host a pop-up?

I already have my brows done by someone else, can you fix them?

Although i’m certified in many different techniques such as color corrections and cover ups.. not all brows can be fixed. Removal and lightening sessions may be needed. Please send email with a close up photo of each brow.

Any client coming to me from a different artist is considered a new client, with full prices.

What is combo/hybrid/microshaded brows?

This is the process of infusing pigment into the skin to simulate the appearance of filled in brows. This is perfect for clients who like a more filled in look. Great for all skin types and heals very soft and beautiful.

what factors will affect my permanent cosmetics (pmu)?

  • Oily Skin: increased oil production can cause microblading hair strokes to blur and heal lighter and powdery.

  • Smoking: Smokers may notice that their PMU will fade faster.

  • Anemia and Iron Deficiency: Your body will absorb these iron based pigments more quickly.

  • Sun Exposure: Increased exposure to the sun will cause premature fading. You will want to use a special sunscreen for your PMU; I recommend Color Guard. You can find it on Amazon.

  • Age and Metabolism. The faster your metabolism the faster the pigment will fade.

  • Bleeding during the procedure: Excessive bleeding during your procedure will greatly affect how your body retains pigment. While this not entirely in our control, it is important that you follow before care instructions to help minimize bleeding. This includes avoiding blood thinning medications, alcohol, and caffeine 24 hours before your procedure.

What is your cancellation policy?

  • I require 72 hours notice to make any changes to your appointment, if not deposit will be lost and will not be transferable to rescheduled appointment. Authorized card on file will be charged cancelation fee if deposit was not left. If payment does not go through, you will need to pay in full if you wish to reschedule.

  • After canceling or rescheduling for a 3rd time, you will no longer be able to schedule any future appointments with Cristal Walker Beauty.

  • Cristal Walker Beauty has the right to refuse service to anyone not abiding and following aftercare instructions or following policy as we feel it is no long productive and want to preserve the integrity of your skin.

BOOKING FEE / previously known as DEPOSITS

  • This fee is to ensure that you are serious about your appointment and is not refundable. The $100 is deducted from your first visit total and balance being due the day of your appointment.

  • If you no-show on your appointment, cancel your appointment, or reschedule with less than 72 hours, you will forfeit your booking fee and will be required to pay all future booking fees.

What is lip blush?

  • This is the process of infusing pigment into the lips to create perfectly shaped, natural pink lips.

  • It does not make lips fuller as injections would, but they will look slightly bigger as we enhance your vermilion border.

  • Please exfoliate daily and moisturize lips 1 week prior to appointment.

  • If you have experienced cold sores in the past, you will need to be on valtrex before your appointment. Please contact your doctor.

  • Two sessions are recommended.

What are your forms of payment

  • Cash, Card, Apple Pay, Zelle, Venmo. No personal checks accepted.

When should I get a touch up

A touch up is recommend when your brows are 50% faded. The skin can only hold so much pigment, therefore if you still have a lot of color in your brows…. I do not recommend touching them yet.

What is microblading?

This is the process of infusing pigment into the skin with a small blade attached to a hand held handle to simulate the appearance of natural hair. It’s semi permanent and will fade over time.

Microblading is meant to be a subtle natural enhancement, and to create fuller more beautiful brows.

Oily skin and aging/thin skin will benefit from other advance techniques which will be discussed during consult. You would be a better candidate for the combination or ombre brow.

do you do eyeliner?

I currently only offer top lash line enhancement. This is to enhance your eye shape and make your eyes pop. I do not currently offer wing liner or smokey eyes.
